The Homicide Unit is working to determine the circumstances of a shooting in Landover that left two people dead. The first decedent is 17-year-old Kyree Duvall of Hillcrest Heights. The second decedent is 20-year-old Camisha Jenifer of Hillcrest Heights. Jenifer had driven herself to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and died a short time later. Through their investigation, detectives learned Jenifer had been shot in the same location as Duvall.

On July 30, 2021, at approximately 11:55 pm, officers responded to the 1800 block of Ryderwood Court for a reported shooting. The officers discovered Duvall outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Duvall and Jenifer had agreed to meet on Ryderwood Court to conduct a transaction involving the sale of a gun. During that interaction, detectives believe Duvall and Jenifer shot each other.
