I decided to go with an HP Notebook. 10th Gen Core i5 processor, 8GB Ram (expandable up to 16GB), and 256GB SSD. All the cumulative reviews I saw gave it over 4 stars out of 5.

I understand that. My wife always had Dell PCs.

I was always a Gateway guy. I'll likely take her HP 2000, wipe it clean, maybe add a SSD. (I've never had a brand new laptop that wasn't company property.)
