Large Brush Fires on Dennis Point

Units responding from multiple fire companies this morning to combat some large wood/brush fires on/around the Dennis Point Marina property. Don't know exact locations or extent yet.

People don't realize how dry it is, no "small" clean-up brush fire is a good idea right now.

People don't realize how dry it is, no "small" clean-up brush fire is a good idea right now.

I walked outside a few minutes ago to get a view directly toward the marina and saw no hint of smoke. It's a very short distance from us to there as the crow flies, separated only by heavy woods and the creek. The wind is blowing from the marina direction toward us so I expected to see at least some haze if there were still active fires. Good sign that they've whupped it.
