Because then the drug dealers will end up with all that money instead of Fat Larry's licensing, developer, and contractor cronies.

He must not have any buddies in those unions who'll kick back to him.

We sure could use some decent patches.

One of the very first things to suffer in a fiat debt money form of monetary policy, is infrastructure. Because, well, the welfare of government employees must come first. After paying all those high salaries, benefits, pension contributions, etc., there is little money left over for the important things in society.

I know a lot of people here hate Larry Hogan. I get that he is not a far right leaning conservative. At best he is a slightly right leaning moderate. But Maryland will never be governed by a far right conservative. It just isn't going to happen. At least he reversed many of the taxes and fees that O'Malley ran wild with. At least he handed out money is a more equitable statewide manner instead of concentrating it all on the Baltimore/Washington corridor. I certainly had my differences with him, but would you rather have had Anthony Brown? Or Ben Jealous? Or maybe in the future Brandon Scott? Or someone from the Moseby family?

His eight years have at least seen a slow down of the march to the progressive left policies that the likes of O'Malley and company were bringing. He was limited in what he could do because the legislature can override his veto. As we just saw with one of the most partisan gerrymandered redistricting maps in the history of the country. And wait until you see what is about to happen. The best option is Franchot who at least is somewhat fiscally responsible. But he will still be far left of what Hogan was. This state is never going to be run by a conservative philosophy and the best we can hope for is what we had the last 8 years. If that is a problem, then some people might seriously think about moving. Because the political makeup of this state is about to change and not for the better if you are on the conservative side.

He has been a fair Governor.
Given the same choice I would vote for him again, but now he wants to be president.

No no No.
