This was likely my last fishing trip of the year. Not a bad day considering it's late December in the free state. We got 10 pickerel in less than 3 hours of fishing. I'll take that for this time of year. When the bass slow down the pickerel always seem to pick up the slack. I'm not sure why so many bass fishermen despise the slime rockets.

Small for Pickerel... but man I used to love catching them. Throw a Carolina rigged rubber worm into a weedbed and watch the weeds weeds separate as the pickerel came after it then WHAM.. the fight was either on or I retrieved half of my rubber worm.
