Lasting Lip Color

I have yet to find any one lip product to any combination of lip products that provides any coverage, lasting lip color, moisture and/or shine.

Now, I know that this isn't one of our world's great problems; it's simply something that I cannot seem to master.

I will use a lip scrub, then smoother/softener. I will then use a primer or spackle and may then add up to a three combo deal of lip
liner/reversible lip liner, lip color then lip gloss.

I love it for the couple of minutes it lasts. It only takes a couple of minutes to do, right?

Is there something that I am missing?

I hardly ever wear lip color because I can't find something that looks natural enough. I guess if I wore it more I'd get used to it.

I really want to try those lip stain marker things (from CoverGirl?). Has anyone used those?

Yes, if I may be blunt  You have too much #### on your lips. :lmao: I use the Revlon brand with nothing on my lips first, and it lasts a ling time.

I wear Chapstick all day, everyday. I have tried Revlon Colorstay lip stuff and it works really good. That's for the 2 times a year I wear lipstick.

I like the Mary Kay clear lip gloss (starry lite or something). It lasts a long time and it doesn't irritate my lips.

I just bought one and it's like putting magic marker on. I don't like the way it dries my lips and if they need conditioning you get stripes.

Sadly, Vix, nothing lasts forever. But Revlon ColorStays comes close. It's a stick, not a pot, and you apply to dry lips - makes sure you don't have schmackie on or it won't adhere. Then I use a non-petroleum based clear gloss/schmackie over the top.

Lasts for hours. On the rare occasion that I wear lip color, that is.

I agree, don't like these alittle bit. Don't waste your money. Very flat color and looks so plain.

I use revlon colorstay and the L'oreal endless kissable. The Loreal one stays put till the next morning for me.

Maybelline Super stay Lip color. Stain is in lip gloss form on one end and clear lip stick on the other for shiny top coat. Works great and stays on a long time. Just might have to reapply the clear once in a while.

Thanks everyone for the responses...

I believe I have a couple of Revlon Colorstay lipsticks. I, unfortunately, have a preference towards tubular lipsticks - like Bare Minerals - v. the conventional lipsticks.

I do have a handful of the stains - I love them! I have a wide assortment of lip color and lip glosses and lip pencils as well! This isn't a recent problem - I've been trying for some time. I'm embarrassed by the amount of time and money invested.

I want color on my lips. I think it's feminine and sexy and completes the make up regime.

I also forgot that I have Benefit's Magic Sealer, (or whatever) which I thought was just for eyes, but found out it can be used on lips too. It "seals" wherever needed (e.g. making non waterproof mascara waterproof), so I'm going to try that.

Yes Dye, too much shiat.. I know. I have very dry lips that. suck :jet: All of the steps I take aren't any different than those we do for our face or body. Or nails, or feet.

I'll try the ColorStay and see how that does (I believe that was the general consensus).

Any more input is greatly appreciated, as is your responses thus far!
