Quoted from the article:
"On Friday, at the mall where the Madden brothers once said they spent thousands of hours, Marci Savoy, 18, and her friend Krystle Cunningham, 17, criticized Duff.

"Oh, she should get beat up for that," Savoy said.

Cunningham chimed in: "You don't see nobody shooting up nobody here. We're just chillin'.""

Any wonder why she AND Joel might think it's ghetto?

Sheesh...

Now that is selective journalism. Surely, they could have found better representatives than those two rejects. Then they turn and put this picture alongside the article. No town with barns and cowboy hats could be called a 'ghetto'.

There are so many things I could say about that article. First, the pastor's son, what a fine citizen he is :jameo: second, Al Smith doesn't live in Waldorf :jameo: third, the writer obviously hasn't been behind Fairlanes Bowling Alley or around Banister Circle. :jameo: 4th, they sure are giving that comment more attention than it deserves. :jameo:

I thought I read something in the Southern Maryland Extra or something that she says she wasn't even talking about Waldorf, she was talking about some apartment he lived in in Baltimore.

Sherry Escolopio's son Aaron was the original drummer in Good Charlotte, performing on the band's first album before leaving to join a different band. She said she blames Madden for Duff's comments and believes Madden casts Waldorf in a negative light to Duff and his other celebrity friends.
I'd be inclined to agree with this. He severely exaggerates how "rough" he had it. He and Benji didn't have it any worse than anyone else.

Yeah. Honestly, if she has never visited this area before she must be working on the impression he passed to her.

Hey, I live in Bannister!!

Nevermind

Also, Paul Thomas (bass player of Good Charlotte) grew up in Bannister too, just a couple streets from me. I was friends with his oldest sister Cindy and my sister was friends with his other older sister Theresa. They were big into the St. Charles Bears as was my family. He was just the baby brother in the way at the time.

I used to live there too (on Bryan Ct). I couldn't imagine living there now...you're brave. :lmao:
I've lived here forever minus briefly in Lusby and a few years in Illinois when I was first married. I've never had any problems and don't feel scared.
We are about a block from Bryan ct. across Bannister Circle. We're on a flag lot that sits back from the main Ct. so the side of our house is on St. Pauls. I like it here.
