It is kinda cool as long as it is free, after that year is up $16.95 a month :boo:

A tip. If you park it the Onstar turns itself off after 48 hours. If you need them to unlock it or blow the horn so you can find it...say at Long Term Lot A of BWI at 2am, after 48 hours they can't.

Unless you pay the big bucks for the big kahuna package it really isn't worth it. The built in Cell is good and you can add it to your cell plan with Verizon, but other than that it is pretty much a useless gadget. IMO

well I allmost learned the hard way about the audio system and how it's all tied together..
evidently the Bose system is set a 16ohms so I'm unable to put my amps in since they operate at 4 ohms or less...and even if i was to switch out the head unit and replace ALL the speakers, the onstar is still tied into all of it

I don't need to drive by the gate...I have enough common sense to know that any information that is needed to be given to you is given 1 of 4 ways...
1...by radio
2...watch commander drives out and tells you in person
3...DOD comes out and tells you in person
4...information ig given to either one of the pass offices and someone from ther comes out to tell you

so just out of curriosity, were you trained to use escalation of force with a cell phone in your hand?
it is doubtfull due to any escalation of force step that strong hand on weapon..weak hand to give instruction/deployment of OC spray.
so with your neck all bent sideways yacking on the cell would most definately IMO hinder any usefull motion of either weak or strong hand..

I know all about the 15/30 min tag breaks (where you sit on your butt for specified time period while buddy cover BOTH lanes)
I know your out there for 12hrs at a time the job sux i know, and you try to do what you can to make the day better...however what you fail to realize is the YOU are the first thing the public see's......so start acting a lil more professional
Sounds like to me you'd be an expert at the MEF, how about I get you put up there for 12 hrs all 4 nights coming up?

And keep them piercings covered up for Christ sake, stay professional.

Yeah, thats why our frequency is monitored. :smack:
My point IS that you can monitor a cell phone with the proper equipment, so your intimation that the guards are using cell phones because the radio can be monitored is, at best, ignorant; at worst a bald-faced lie.

Yes you can monitor a cell phone call, but what is the possibility of that? If I had to choose between radio and cell, I would use a cell since the likelyhood of interception your radio is high than your cell. :duel:

I should be asking you what it the possiblity. What was the possiblity of 9/11 happening? It happened right...... So we try to use the most secure means possible AT THE TIME, WITHOUT HINDERING TRAFFIC

Ahhh....Why so mad, Let me point some things out.

1. No phones at the gate.
2. Some stuff cant be relayed over the radio due to OPSEC/dont want people to hear
3. If something did happen yesterday, people would use their cell phones. Why, because you should practice the ABC of radio transmittion.
Accurate, Brevity, Clarity If you use the radio, everybodies gonna want to talk (I.E. Dispatch, supervisor, patrolman, gates, and the nosey people)
4. Thats where cell phones come into play...

Idiot!

You really don't get it, do you? I can almost hear Don Knotts' voice in your posts. The only one in here more obtuse than you has GOT to be JPC.
You puff your chest out spouting terms like "OPSEC" and "ABC's" because you think it makes you sound like you're "In the Know". All it does is make you sound like yet another Barney Fife wanna-be who is convinced of his own importance and is trying too hard to convince everyone else of the same. :loser:
