Which one is better? The games average about $20-25. I had a V tech but my son didn't like it. I do like the fact that the leapster i can take it with us when travel. The click start we can hook up to our tv and it seems easier for everyone to interact wit hit. Maybe i should get both or get his grand parents to get one and i get another. His birthday is on saturday and i haven't made up my mind what to get him. He is really into learning a lot now that he has been in school all year. I am open to any suggestions. Thank you.

I bought Leapsters for both my kids and both got bored quickly with them. They prefer the good old-fashioned pencil to paper workbooks that you find in the "book" sections of Target and Wal-Mart. I also bought them flashcards. They prefer those over the "computerized" learning tools. And they are a heck of a lot less expensive.

I have a few work books and flash cards but he got board with those. He has a card time sitting still at times. He is just turning 4 so i can understand. He didn't like the V-tech systems but i got him that when he was 2.

Every kid is different. Something in my youngest clicked recently and he's really into the workbooks and flashcards now. I had bought them for Christmas. He likes to test me to see if I know my letters and numbers. I'll get a few wrong so he'll feel good about correcting me. His older brother loves playing school with him and has tried to teach him basic math already. He can do it on paper (with pictures and written numbers) but not in his head. This Friday is his last day of Pre-K and he says on Monday, he'll start Kindergarten.

How old is your son? My daughter is 6, got the Leapster when she was 4 but got a DS about a year after that and mainly uses the DS but she still picks up the Leapster every once in a while. It is great for travel. Ours hooks up to the TV also but we never use that option. Did it once or twice when we first got it.
Sometimes Target and Toys R Us will run really good deals on the games. Buy 2 get 1 free.

My kids have the leapster and my daughter is just turning 8and has had it for a few years. she still loves it. She never bores of it. I don't know anything about the other one you are talking about.

He seems to really like the computer. We went on nick jr.com and played some games on there. I wasn't allowed to touch the mouse. We played for an hour. When it was time to get off it he was upset.

Go on ebay or online and order the fisher price easy link launchpad. THIS is WONDERFUL!!! It didn't do well the year it came out sales wise but we have one and I gave it as a gift a few times because we LOVE it. I would get that for the computer and you can get them pretty cheap with various "keys" to put in there. The Mickey Mouse key will go to all of Playhouse disney which covers several shows/websites. Then still get the Leapster for use all the time.
