Leash Training

A friend recently adopted a lab who is about 2 years old. They don't know anything about his background or where he came from, he just showed up as a stray. He's having difficulties adjusting to leash training. Does anyone have any tips for getting him comfortable with it so that he can walk patiently w/out acting like a "puppy" on a leash?

I can use some help with that too! I have a easy walk harness for Lilah and she does fairly well but there is a lot of room for improvement.
