Years ago I was playing right field when my best friend stepped up to the plate. He was given a fat pitch and whiffed badly (this is a guy who routinely sends it into the stratosphere). I shouted very loudly “Rob! YOU SUCK!”. Gasps of horror from all of the leftie types I knew. But Rob was laughing so hard, he had to step away from the plate. They could NOT understand it.
One of my favorite scenes from the original Star Trek series, Kirk, McCoy, Scotty and Spock are talking about Khan and his history in the conference room. Scotty says he’s always had a sneaking admiration for him and elaborates. Spock is aghast and reminds him of his brutality. The other two similarly express admiration for his cunning and charismatic leadership. Spock just about LOSES it when the other three break into laughter. Spock, Kirk says, you can admire a man - and still be against him. “Totally illogical “ he answers.
This is conservatives with a liberal. They do not get it. WE do. We know when someone is joking (like me with my friend) and when they’re not.

SO many of Trump’s remarks that the left is offended by - they’re jokes. The fuss over the McDonalds thing proves it. They don’t get it.

But I don't stay that way for good. Modern Democrats - that's them. They are not amused. They are *never* amused because having Donald Hitler take over the world and throw them all in an underground prison to eat rats is serious business! They don't even know anyone who isn't panicking and having night terrors. "How can you laugh at a time like this???"
