They want everyone to be running the same speed so when they collide it takes out more cars.

Eventually, it's going to be like Pinewood Derby. "Here's your kit car. You can use whatever glue you want, and paint it whatever color you want. But that's it. No other changes. All cars will be identical."

Accidents will increase because drivers will bump others out of the way because it will be the only way to gain position.
