Let's face it... we stink!

1 Corinthians 15:35 But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” 36 How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39 Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.
42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. 48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.
50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

This is from the commentary.

What you sow: Paul says our bodies are like “seeds” which “grow” into resurrection bodies. When you bury the body of a believer, you are “sowing” a “seed” that will come out of the earth as a resurrection body.
All flesh is not the same flesh: There are all different kinds of “bodies” in God’s creation, including celestial bodies. Our resurrection body will be a heavenly (celestial) body, suited for life in heaven, not only life on this earth.
The first perfect man, Adam, gave us one kind of body. The second perfect man, Jesus the last Adam, can give us another kind of body. He is a life-giving spirit.
Nor does corruption inherit incorruption: The word corruption does not mean moral or ethical corruption, but physical, material corruption. These bodies which are subject to disease, injury, and one day decay, are unsuited for heaven. Corruption can’t inherit incorruption.
We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed: Since sleep is a softer way of describing the death of a believer, Paul tells us that not all Christians will die, but there will be a “final generation” who will be transformed into resurrection bodies at the return of Jesus before they ever face death.
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet… the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed: In a single moment, Jesus will gather His people (both dead and on the earth) to Himself, for resurrection.
Paul is quite an orator. If anything Paul said suggests that Jesus might have really knocked him down and blinded him, these verses might. Who would think of how to explain how a rotted body can get up and walk? Who would think of how to explain how a body stuffed stiff with herbs and wrapped in strips of fabric can get up and walk? Where in the world did Paul learn about Zombies and Mummies? The men who would write the script for those movies isn't even a glint on the horizon yet. Where in the world did Paul learn how the dead will rise?

Someone told me that a meteor was going to destroy the earth. Can't you just see it now? Jesus riding a huge meteor, headed right at us.... wouldn't that be a sight to behold. I bet Jesus could ride a meteor if He wanted to. Anyway... back to the thought.... I figure the end of the earth will either be by meteor [like Sodom] or a Sun Burst. Either way, if I'm still here, I will go through quite a molecular change.

But wait... if Jesus blows up the earth.... what will happen to those who weren't dead when Jesus rode the meteor in? That's sort of what Paul is talking about... When we die, we don't drag our earthly bodies with us. They rot away. We will be able to move a lot freer. Now I have seen a new plant push a part of the seed up out of the earth when it first pokes free. I guess some of us will need the remains of the seed to hide under, if we aren't Christian. The brightness of the "Son" might be really harsh... right?

If I become a bunch or random molecules, to be whisked away to another planet or solar system or Heaven, I will probably be so distracted by all the new life, I won't miss this old scarred up half blind cancer and Lyme ridden body. Wouldn't it be great if our new bodies were disease proof? Wouldn't it be great if our new bodies were indestructible?

Maybe we will get new bodies... so, we don't have to pay medical insurance anymore... lol.

Maybe we will get new bodies... so, we don't need car insurance anymore, because we can fly... lol.

Maybe we will get new bodies... so, we don't have to pay taxes anymore.... oh, now that's something to look forward to... lol.

Mostly I think we will get new bodies because these bodies are stinky with sin and God just doesn't like the stink humans have adopted here on earth.

Let's face it... we stink!
