The "news" media is bombarding us with details about that kid who killed 4 people, which is obviously terrible, but in Baltimore they call that "Friday" and it gets zero play in the news.

News media: "This is what we want you to care about today. Ignore that other stuff."

And yet each and every one of them insists they care deeply about the "black community" while ignoring the violence that takes their lives, and also outright championing the predators. "This guy's mom and sister love him, and he bought ice cream for the kids on his block. Family members say he was the kindest soul on earth. Oh yeah, he also beat and raped a woman into a miscarriage, then shot several more people, and has been in jail for armed robbery and home invasion." This is typically accompanied by a 10 year old photo of of the perp as a smiling cherub.

And half this country falls for it.

I have been sitting here all morning trying to formulate a post about this. You nailed it and saved my brain from overworking. Thanks. Now if the sheep could just see the wolves amongst them......

I don't like children killing children no matter what color their skin is. I don't want anyone hurting children... but this is just too sad... baby on baby crime!!!!

I see your point though... well stated.

Aren't parents "required" to send their children to school? Shouldn't the schools be "required" to keep them safe?

Pretty soon parents will have to quit work to keep kids at home and educate them on-line. That'll affect the economy.

It'll be too dangerous for them to go to public school. That will save a lot of money on building upkeep, affecting the economy as well.

Guess they'll spend it on "internet for all" instead. That'll bring honesty and truth to every home... yeah, right?

So sad...

I've said as much many times, although I said "Chicago". Most major cities see shootings of this scope every single weekend - youths killing youths.

This is the shiny thing to get your attention - it has no value otherwise. Just like the Trump/Arlington thing, which will be FORGOTTEN in a week.

Run the numbers. See what percentage of public school students are murdered by a classmate on school property.

Our schools are very safe. Chicago children are safer at school than they are in their own home, per the stats.

I call this sort of thing "Summer of the Shark". The media makes a big deal out of a shark attack - they just did it again here in PCB - and everyone freaks out, completely ignoring the fact that out of 4 million tourists only one of them got attacked by a shark. Those are excellent odds. You are 100x more likely to be injured or killed in a car accident here than you are to be attacked by a shark, and yet nobody freaks out about driving.

This is what I mean by the news media manipulating us into freaking out about something that is uncommon and there's nothing we can do about it anyway. No safety measure is 100%. Like, none. People die of all sorts of things every single day. You just do the best you can.

Another one of my axioms of the universe - "You are ALWAYS being manipulated".

And yet you post daily about supposed “satanic pedophile cults” with absolutely zero evidence.

You are one of the most paranoid posters but seem ambivalent that kids are getting murdered in the classroom.

Some shark attacks are both well documented and unprovoked.
