No, they just can't be bothered to enforce road rules, as pointed out in a recent post about blowing thru a right-turn-only lane.

Let's have an argument!

Was anyone else taught in driver's ed that if and when police attempt to pull you over that you are supposed to drive safely until you reach a side road or parking lot to pull in to? This is what I was taught and what seems safest, but people are idiots and freak out when a cop lights them up.

The inevitable problem is cars in both lanes are doing around the same speed, or when you try to go around to the right lane and pass the car in left lane, they suddenly decide to speed up 5 MPH and leave you stuck again. If it's not hard to go around to the right or left, then why not just return to the right lane until the need to get in left again. It's the proper way. 2-3 lights or turn lanes in close proximity is the allowable amount for someone to hold up the left lane. Otherwise, stay right.

Its just the way it is ..next thing you know people will complain about the lines in a airport or walmart

You know what’s most exasperating? Silliness aside, this is - essentially - how most people argue. They will assert things without evidence, repeat it either endlessly or mildly nuanced, rigidly insist even if they contradict themselves - and probably unintentionally will shift the argument when they’re losing and inevitably devolve into personal insults.

The best way to not get into such is to gracefully bow out and let them think they “won” - because nothing is gained by such exchanges. You don’t get any kind of ego boost by “defeating” an utter imbecile.

When I was commuting from Leonardtown to La Plata Mon- Fri, I'd stay in the right lane until approx 1/2 mile before making the left on Rt 6. When I was in the left lane I'd do 10-15 miles over the speed limit. Wouldnt make any difference, still have people riding my bumper for that 1/2 mile. But I dont think it would've made any difference, if I was doing 80, they'd still be riding my bumper. Some people just love to tailgate.

I’ve seen this absolutely everywhere. I’m convinced that it’s one of two things - either such persons feel they are in a RACE - or they have an arbitrary top speed they intend to travel at, and in either case, you’re an obstacle.

Just saw an officer here. 0945 on a 4th of July morning. Traffic really light. Bummer those enforcement hours couldn't be spent during a weekday in a school zone a half mile down the road. I seem to remember that they would also sit in the trailer park entrance across from Sawatdee during rush hour.

I remember arguing with a guy on Yahoo Groups years ago. A Brit who was all how Yanks are all cowards and wusses in war and how they really have pretty much lost every fight unless they tuck tail and run.

Kept coming back with facts - he - and then his Brit friends - got real crude and antied up with vulgarity and insults.

So I quit. Noticed later how they all bragged about beating that coward Yank.

But I could have wasted days with those *******s. Some things just ain’t worth it.

I was kidding. I too quickly grow tired of debating poo-throwing monkeys and rarely respond to mindless leftbots. One minute you're having a mild disagreement over illegal aliens, the next minute they're stalking you and trying to burn down your house and kill your pets.

People use that argument all the time but what typically happens is traffic is bumper to bumper and some ass zips to the front in the ending lane and forces his way in. Used to see it all the time on 235N after the light at 4.
