They say they are looking for a Robert Card, 40 yrs old, and are showing some guy name Robert Card's photo that just retired from the Army (I think that one is 44 yrs old) and another Robert Card's photo that is a 39 yrs sex offender.

I don't think it is either.

Still no suspect in custody and they say the state police is taking over.

Huge numbers...for a town of 38K.
And it is generally a dried up industrial town...that Somalis were welcomed into...
My Family in the area are all secure but quite uncertain.
The news is saying that Robert Card has threatened to shoot up the Army reserves. It is said that he was hearing voices over the summer and was committed for 2-weeks. He is a trained by the US government as a firearms instructor and that he has a night scope on the weapon. And no doubt, he has survivor skills.

I wonder what fricken medicine he is on?

I've seen more cops in this story than I did for a week up there. I wasn't in Lewiston. I got home Tuesday evening.

I heard that last night from a few who live in that area. I think in 2022, they had 38 murders for entire year in the entire state.

The dispatchers and officers did very well. Some officers were expected to be in court this morning but courts closed for the day (decided last night) and they held everyone over. Many off duty officers came on duty last night and helped, and later, they turned the investigation over to the state police.

I messaged my Maine friend to see if he knows something that hasn't been shown on the news yet and remembered he's on his way to CO today.

Listened to the afternoon press briefing. Not sure who that guy giving the briefing was, but it was a masterclass in how to do such things. His tone and everything else was spot on. The level of informality was perfectly suited to each part of the briefing. Things that stood out.

I hate to say it, but these types of incidents are bound to happen more frequently, if mental illness continues to be celebrated instead of being treated.

Everyone is being conditioned to accept early warning signs as "personal expression" of the individuals that carry out this sort of attack. Libs own this, I don't give a **** how the media will spin it. It's time to weed these sick individuals out of society and put them in a place where they can get treatment. Some people are just "broken" and hard decisions need to be made.

Thing is you cannot lock up someone for ' being crazy ' [ and I do not disagree something needs done ]

EVERYONE Knew Jared Lee Loughner had issues / was nuttier than a fruitcake ... reported after the shootings people AVOIDED him in school [ he was going to college ] his personality / presence was unsettling to many around him he gave off bad vibes .... but that does not give the state grounds to lock him up .... many of the mass shooters were nutty like this

In the case of the Lewiston Shooter ... The Army had the guy in the hospital for 2 weeks, who's responsibility was it to check if this guy had any weapons and confiscate them .... what was the outcome of the 2 week stay ?

crazy people cannot be stopped from doing crazy things ... what you can do is allow citizens to be armed. Had someone at the bowling alley been armed this potentially could have been stopped faster
