There was a colorful collection of 80 guns and gun-making tools, including a 3D printer, inside of Taylor's house on the 20000 block of Goddard Road in Lexington Park. These included fully automatic machine guns, semiautomatic rifles, shotguns and handguns, most of which were ghost guns, which are unregistered and made without serial numbers.

St. Mary's County deputies discovered the guns after they said they were called to Taylor's Lexington Park house Thursday during a domestic assault investigation. Taylor had gotten away before police arrived that night.

Okay, whose son of anarchy is this? :tap:

I'm guessing colorful such as cyan & magenta firearms.

Was this the same guy whose shed caught on fire when they came to put out the fire and they found all the guns in it or a different guy?

Also, "felon in possession". I'd hate to think that my shotguns would be confiscated to be "lost" later when it came time for them to be returned, although "felon in possession" doesn't pertain to me.

Reading through various "news" stories lately it seems that any firearms, whether legally owned or not, are being confiscated across the US whenever law enforcement responds for any reason.

While you can technically make crappy parts for guns with a 3d printer, I wouldn't call a 3d printer a "gun making tool". Furthermore, I wasn't aware tools for making guns were illegal? I feel like I have seen have a dozen different TV shows where craftsmen make a gun in their shed (usually a rifle).

That. I've never built a firearm with a part that could be produced by a 3D printer, unless you'd include grips or a couple other parts easily purchased literally anywhere...

I'd be afraid of a 3D printed plastic part not holding up and blowing up in my face. There's evidence to the contrary, but I personally wouldn't use one.

I was presented with a 3D printed "Glock" replica and asked if I could make it shoot better. The Glocks being a lot of plastic crap to begin with... I took a short look at it and declared it a total piece of crap. I really have no idea what kind of "firearms" are actually being "produced" with 3D plastic printers. I'd be interested to see one that was not just junk.

Yeah, I think I trust one of the World War II liberators more than any 3-D printed pistol.

When I was a kid...

we'd make .22 pistols using 1/8" NPT pipe tube and fittings, a hand-carved grip, and a firing pin made from a 20-penny nail cut off and a rubber band. Nobody was ever hurt from firing one of those (and no specific target ever hit either..but I digress)
