]You want to put blame on him well she just at fault too. I think they were in a relationship and he dumped her and out of anger she went and told.
It was up to him to never be in a relationship with a student in the first place.

I know the guy and he seem nice.
Of course he is! That is what people like him do. They endure themselves to impressionable people, and then they prey on them

I'm not taking his side but remember there are always 2 sides of the story.
He was in charge therefore should have never allowed this.

Your problem is an adult committed a crime, and you say things like this;

Why would you make an assumption that a victim of a crime, whom you admittedly don't know, is not sweet and innocent?
:blahblah:

Your problem is - you don't know what speculation means. :jet:

I understand what speculation is. I understand you were speculating on the incident and the character of the victim.

What I don't understand, is why you would speculate the victim had a less than reputable character?

I have been in this field for just about fifteen years. Perhaps you have some education or experience contrary to my education and experience. I am taught that there are predatory persons, who seek out a specific sort of individual to commit these sort of crimes.

Share to care your training or experience to better educate me? I believe I can learn something new each day.

You were touched as a child...weren't you?

It explains a lot...:coffee:

I think you all are disgraceful for ripping this guy to shreds when you don't know what happened and are merely operating on speculation.

For all you know, the girl came onto him, he spurned her, and now she's getting revenge. Or she may have just told a friend she was messing with the cute drumline coach, that friend told other people, and it eventually got back to parents or school officials.

You don't know. But you are happy to eviscerate him anyway.

Sick.

You love to :elaine: don't ya though? :roflmao:

I totally agree with you here though, that everyone is jumping to way too much of a conclusion without even knowing exactly what it is the poor guy was accused of, let alone how trustworthy this girl is or who reported this situation.

Actually, many of us do know exactly what he is accused of. It's all there, in black and white, if you are willing to read.

What we don't know is if the girl was truthful. There's really only one question here: did it happen or not? It doesn't matter why.

If she came on to him or not is irrelevant. Speculation that she's some sort of tramp is far worse than the speculation that he's actually guilty as charged.

There's obviously a reason that the BCI detectives believe this happened. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

If it turns out that this is a false accusation, it should be very easy for him to prove that she has never been to his house. There should also be plenty of witnesses who can verify that he wasn't sitting with her on the bus. I suspect those witnesses couldn't be found, or he wouldn't have been arrested.

do tell...seeing as I just looked through multiple sources and see nothing "in black and white" besides "an inappropriate sexual relationship".

I would like to know...but I have no time now to search 50 sites.

And this right here tells me that it wasn't illegal and if he gets a good lawyer he should get off...

Strandberg was identified by police as the school’s drum-line coach, an after-school, part-time position.
Plain and simple in accordance to the law, at least to ME, please explain if you interpret it differently. Maybe this incident will show the system that there needs to be a background check for anyone working with kids, and not JUST the full-time teachers and such.

First, look at what he was charged with. Read the law, and see if your point matters.

Second, how would a background investigation have prevented this? This is his first offense. What would they find?

Third, I don't know the rules in St. Mary's, but I cannot imagine it being different than Calvert. I had to be fingerprinted and run through the FBI before ever being allowed to instruct kids.

1: What is he being charged with now? The law I looked up last week (and what he was being charged with) stated that you must be full time to be considered "in authority"

2: I am speaking for future employment, if he is convicted, then this would show up on a BG check

3: I got that from the article, it stated that volunteer/part timers don't necessarily get a BG check

I will not know that until she's much older and safely out of my jurisdiction

But I DO remember having an enormous crush on my Psychology teacher, and trying to finagle ways to get him alone. He was too smart for me, darn the luck, and managed to avoid my affections. But if he'd have not been ever-vigilant, there might have been a compromising situation and he would have been in trouble through no fault of his own. He was also my self-defense teacher, and the only reason I even took that class was in hopes of having to grapple with him (in the name of academia and personal safety, of course )

So stuff happens, and it's not always the adult's fault. 16 year old girls are not innocent children - and you all know that with the rash of girls taking photos of their hoo hoo and sending it all over via cellphone.
