I used to be able to log into the Newspaper Archives for free through the Library of Southern Maryland Website.

I've noticed that the link is gone now. Does anyone know if this is still available somewhere?

I'm not familiar with the original link that you're talking about so I'd need a bit more information to be able to see what I could find -- which newspapers, were the archives online, did you go througha particular branch or website service to get them?

I'd be glad to see what I could find for you -- I like puzzles like this!

or, you could just contact the folks at Ask Us Now, Maryland's online 24/7 library reference service and do a "chat" with them to get an answer.

Thanks for the help!! :flowers:

The site I always went through is SOMD Lib COSMOS

The second link for "Online Databases" Leads to a page of external resources that the library hooked you into for free if you had a library card. One of those sites was Newspaperarchives.com.

Normally to get access to that site it's a monthly fee, but the library had an account with them and library card holders could view the site for free.

I would love to still have access since it was a gold mine of info.

St. Mary's College library has some.

Yeah, on Microfilm... lol. Mainly the Baltimore Sun.

Through the library I was able to look at the Frederick Post in pdf form from the late 1700's to today for free.

Mainly for research for family history and the book I am writing about them.

Now the link vanished.

I talked to the 24/7 ask a librarian and she found a link, but it's blocked at work so i don't know if I can still read the frederick post or not :ohwell:
