My boxer Molly just started this strange licking this week. The licking is only on her "lady parts" and butt. Like, licking so bad it's soaking the bed in huge spots. Waking us out of a sound sleep because it's THAT WET? What would cause such massive licking in those areas? I've heard about anal glands? but never experienced it. She's soaking the bed/sheets/floor with this?

Interesting my dog just starting doing that too, I'm going to call the vet this morning. I'm thinking is the gland.

Let me know what your vet thinks, I've had female dogs before but never this problem?

My Pup has done that before too. Turns out, one time..her Anal Glands were full, and the next time..she had a Urinary Tract Infection

Especially with small dogs, their anal glands have to be expressed regularly. If they are scooting or skiing across the carpet or grass, that is usually a good indication.

and if they have a recessed vajay jay you could be looking at a bacterial infection if its not "clean"
seeing that is has been very hot and humid... bacteria and yeast can grown down there as well.

Oh crap. I was told she had a recessed vijay when we had her spayed.

Have given her a good cleaning around that area and we will see

Mine is going in Monday to get checked. Of course now she's not doing it anymore.

There are videos on you tube of how you can do it yourself.

Shelley expressed our dog along with a bath and grooming. What a handsome and happy non-chewing boy he was after his "treatment".

Ours was doing the same thing on the couch so our new Hoover Steam Cleaner should arrive tomorrow.
At any rate, our vet said she has a "hooded vulva". I'm not sure if that is the same as the issue talked about in earlier posts, but I'm thinking about corrective surgery.
She's been doing the azz-scoot too so I guess we need to get her squeezed.

I forgot all about this thread. My pup is fine, apparently she sat on a fire ant hill and got bit by one or two right around her butt. Poor thing. I've put stuff out now to get rid of the fire ants so hopefully we won't have any more problems.
