So we have what about 2 inches on the roads and I havent seen one road treated in here. I had to stop twice to push people. I thought they plowed the main roads atleast in here???

They will, don't worry, may be getting a slow start because we got more than they called for. Ranch club roads will be fine as morning comes around.

well if what fast says is true, i'd recommend going to the front gate and navigating from there, that is the most flat route rather than the very hilly back and middle gates.

Yeah dont take the side gate. Unless you have 4 Wheel Drive. Its a really slippery snow. 765 looked a little rough but I did see a couple trucks trying to get it straight. I may go out later to see what the status looks like. I need to grab my tow straps. I hate seeing people unprepared for snow like this cause the weather person couldnt tell us much.

red is your best friend, it keeps a smile on everyones face. Anyways...it all depends on the amount of snow, and how much they are expecting. I imagine since the weather people got it wrong about the amount they weren't as prepared. Normally in past years when we got snow the main roads were passable and the hills were treated and navigable. They will be out there if it is heavy snow, right when it starts plowing and treating...what we got was quite unexpected.

Red Happens LOL. This is a really weird snow. It seems to be light but I really think its mixed in with a little sleet so its hard to tell.

It's definitely a very wet snow. And right now it looks like its raining, so thats means freezing rain, just anyone out there needs to be careful...I'm sure anyone from upstate New York, or anywhere up there is just laughing at us silly Marylanders worried about 2 inches of snow. :lmao:

We were out and about at 3pm today and they were out treating the roads. I've been here 13 years and they do a great job on the paved roads.

:yay: glad to hear you saw them treating the roads, I can see people along the road by the airport (sharp curve along double tree) they seem to be making it around just fine. Been here 8 years now, a few times I have gone out and the ranch club roads we well treated and plowed and then I got on route 4 and it was a slushy, icy mess. We do get our money's worth in the road fees, when it does snow.

Most storms they do well on the roads, but once in a while they drop the ball.

The roads were in great shape around 4, but I haven't been out since.

Remember, they have a limited staff, limited budget, and almost 70 miles of roads. That doesn't mean they get a pass, but I'm not willing to pay what it would cost for them to scrape the roads much faster than they do.

Yeah Im not #####ing per se about how they treat the roads just figuring out what they do. I only would expect to see the main arteries taken care of of initially and then go from there.

Catalina, Gun Smoke, Thunderbird, etc... To expect anything other then that and your nuts.

Looks like the cars are driving a little slower than normal on Thunderbird.

The Roads crew should be treating the main roads but for this storm, that's about all they'll be doing.... They don't plow until it's over 4".

If anyone is new to CRE and they have medical problems, they should contact the office and make sure they are on a priority list.

Is there some sort of bylaw for CRE that states you are not allowed to have tread on your tires?

just curious because, other than totally bald tires, I cant imagine having issues with 2 inches of snow.

I just bought a house in Drum Point. I love it, I dont really have to deal with much traffic on my way home. The snow was all melted this morning by the time I left for work. Just had to brush it off my car.

LOL you would think so but about 5pm yesterday we had a very wet sticky snow on the roads and with some of the small hills and winding turns people were getting stuck everywhere.
