"JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — A military jury has sentenced a U.S. soldier who massacred 16 Afghan civilians last year to life in prison without a chance of parole.

The decision came Friday in the case against Staff Sgt. Robert Bales who pleaded guilty in June in a deal to avoid the death penalty for one of the worst atrocities of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Bales took the witness stand Thursday and apologized for the pre-dawn attack in March 2012, describing it as an act of cowardice.

Bales, a father of two from Lake Tapps, Wash., was serving his fourth combat deployment when he left his outpost at Camp Belambay, in Kandahar province, in the middle of the night to attack two villages.

Damn, sounds like he got a little bit rougher sentence than Chelsea Manning. Maybe she will be Bales wide receiver in prison, you never know.

Bad precedent. This guy intentionally killed 16 Afghan civilians. Hassad intentionally killed 13 American soldiers, while wanting to kill many more. That means he will not get the death sentence, either, because obama and his cronies cannot allow the murderer of Afghanis to live, while the muslim jihadi murderer of Americans is sentenced to death.

Both deserve their own execution.

Just does not fit the liberal agenda, though. Bad example to show that Afghani lives do not mean as much as American lives.

Not. For the current occupant of the WH, that is.

I'd like to see the three of them (once Hassan gets his life sentence) all sharing a cell. Hassan can try to use his psychiatric training to cure them both, or he can use his Muslim jihad gene to kill Manning and Bales. Bales, on the other hand can kill them both in his sleep-walk.
