In My Opinion
I have never been able to do it, not because of the lack of ability, but more to the fact that I dont feel like standing outside waiting for a strike to happen.
Maybe the next time one of those storms come through that have the lightning hits at the rate of 1000 per hour or something.
Overall though, you might not have got the most impressive strike ever recorded as far as direction and intensity, but you certainly captured well what you had to work with.
