I can't tell you how many times I had to decontaminate virus-laden PCs from people using LimeWire.

Oh yeah that brings back memories. You'd really have to make sure you were Downloading an *.mp3 file extension, otherwise it was bad news. I preferred WinMX . Loved the interface

Didn't these apps kinda go by the wayside? I seem to recall bellyaching about copyright infringement; or apps like this hurting album sales.

There are still dark corners of the internet where you can download free music and movies. I don't go to them myself (government job with clearance) but I know people who do. I would not explicitly search for them though unless you know what you are doing, you can get into some bad sites and a lot of trouble.
