I have an older Linksys router at my house. How do I put a security thing on it so it cannot be hacked by neighbors, etc?

Be forewarned. Older Linksys routers may not have the latest security and encryption available to them. WEP can be hacked fairly easily. WPA and WPA2 are better. At today's prices, it's better to toss older wifi routers and get the latest. I've sent 2 Linksys routers away for recycling just for this reason.

You really have to judge the threat. For 99% of the population, someone actually hacking in past encryption of any sort is a pretty low probability event. I think. If you live in an aprtment complex where 20 or more people can see your network, the risk level is higher, but if you live in a place where only 2 or 3 people can see it, I would think you're okay with WEP.

Easy is relative.
