Happy Camper
For the first time in more than 20 years, tiny lion paws are making a mark at the National Zoo. Early on the morning of May 18, six-year-old lion Nababiep gave birth to one cub, adding another member to the lion pride the Zoo has carefully worked to build over the past year.

They've even got a Lion Cam set up. Of course, it just looks like a giant sleeping kitty!! Couldn't find any photos of the cub.

Watching the cam now. Something must be going on because momma keeps pacing back and forth between where the baby is and the area on the other side of the wall. She's gone in and out about 10 times! I wonder what's up. I can't see the baby though. I think the black bar on the bottom of the cam shot is blocking the baby. :frown:

 Finally!! The baby is on screen now!!!!!! Nursing from what it looks like. Momma was cleaning it and looked up at the camera with a "stinky cheese" look on her face.
