Calvert Co. Little Cove Point Rd Gated Off Road?

Towards the very end of Little Cove Pt rd in Lusby, a few turns past the CRE entrance, there's a visible paved road/trail with tall fence gates blocking it off. Kinda odd to me lol. If you look far enough back there, you can see like a building, or 2 buildings, sitting in the middle of the woods blocked by two big gates. Anyone know anything about that? Is it like an abandoned neighborhood back there lol? Cheers!

Is that past what used to be the back gate, or entrance or whatever they call it? I used to miss that turn every. single. time when we first moved here, but I never really paid too much attention to anything past there, except to turn around.
