It would die pretty fast though, like the article says, but cruelty?

Its a damn goldfish. Who gives a flying eff if it only lasts a little while. Them ones at the fair do pretty well for themselves sitting in those little bags all day :shrug: (ok, pretty well is relative I suppose..) Where are the animal rights people there?
