I think the Big Bear Cam has IR at night and is powered by solar/batts.
edit - PT cam does NOT have IR.

I didn't even know this existed. I have taken pictures of the Eagles flying in an out of this area often. We got our drone too close, and we found out that the birds are spot on when it comes to air security. They are far better than our government. ;)

Incubation period is 35-38 days (typical)...Port Tobacco eagles will not be having any hatchlings (pips) for a couple more weeks. Blizzard at Big Bear Lake!

I look forward to watching the Port Tobacco pair when they get close. I also see some eagles in the Solomons area until the ospreys come back mid-March.

General observations​

Time from egg-laying to hatch among all 72 clutches:

  • The average time was exactly 36.5 days (36 days 12 hours).
  • The shortest time was about 34.5 days (34 days 11 hours 1 minute).
  • The longest time was about 40.5 days (40 days 12 hours 17 minutes).
YA we shall see, lets be positive !
