The touch screen on my Samsung laptop is cracked. I have no idea how. Now it acts totally squirrelly, opening and closing windows.

Can you recommend a local shop to replace the screen?

Please don't explain to me how to replace it so easily myself, I just don't wanna.

Ah, c'mon. I'll loan you the tools, but you have to record video of the repair. :yay:

Staples offers screen replacement.

Oh..laptop. I read as phone. But Staples does that too.
Yeah, the laptop came from Best Buy a few years ago. I could just take it back there, but I'd like to support a small local business if it's available.

Seems to me someone posted many moons ago about a local repair shop that was pretty good... maybe it was for software issues? don't remember...

I scrolled thru the computer forum for a few pages and didn't see anything. I can keep going and see if anything pops up.

Yep. He operates a repair business on the side: "St. George Island Toaster and 8-track Tape Deck Repair". Don't let the name fool ya..he fixes anything...he even builds lamps out of the remains of industrial waste.
And after he repairs it his wife will patina it.

Chesapeake PC Source in Leonardtown.

(And my laptop is actually an HP)

2 really nice young men, didn't make me feel stupid ( which is easy when it comes to electronics).

They suggested I turn the touch screen off, so it would stop thinking I was touching it (which the crack was doing). Magic! Computer immediately started acting right!

One of y'all could have told me to try that had my explanation of the trouble been clearer, right?

Anyway, I highly recommend these guys.

So, did you have the touchscreen replaced or did you just disable it? If you still need it replaced, order the replacement and ill swap it out for you.

I think I used them a while back when they were in that low building by the winery in L'town. It was 2 guys and they were very nice.

Just disabled the touch screen. Temporary fix, I'll probably get the screen replaced, later this year.

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it. Or may attempt it myself.
