Got to be more to it than this.

Body armor won't work for a shotgun blast to the face.
Is it really a crime to wear a bullet proof vest? It didn't say use of bullet proof armor in the commission of a crime, just wearing it.

If you have a criminal record that includes a list of specific crimes, you must apply for a permit to possess any type of ballistic armor. I kinda suspect the clown involved in the break-in didn't have a permit and needed to have one. I'm not sure where "wearing armor during the commission of crimes" falls....

That would have been the best ending to the story.

Instead, the POS will likely be RORd and rearrested for another murder sometime in the near future.

"Hyatt faces ten charges, including attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, wearing bulletproof armor in the commission of a violent crime, concealing a dangerous weapon, and related burglary offenses."

Evidently it did say bulletproof armor in the commission of a violent crime.

Makes more sense to me.

The list of charges didn't say the same thing:
  • Attempted First-Degree Murder (Felony)
  • Attempted Second-Degree Murder (Felony)
  • First-Degree Assault (Felony)
  • Second-Degree Assault (Misdemeanor)
  • Home Invasion (Felony)
  • Third-Degree Burglary (Felony)
  • Fourth-Degree Burglary (Misdemeanor)
  • Wearing Bulletproof Armor (Misdemeanor)
  • Firearm Use in a Felony Violent Crime (Misdemeanor)
  • Concealing a Dangerous Weapon (Misdemeanor)[/QUOTE

Forget shooting, beating, or chopping up these *******s, I think I'll set one on fire if they try to break in my house. Give them plenty of time to think about their life choices.

Thought kevlar was part of the school uniform in Baltimore?
Kids got it easy these days. This was the approved dress code when I was in school.
