Local Shelter or Rescue Volunteers?

My daughter wants to volunteer with an animal shelter over the summer. Is there a local (no-kill of course) group that lets kid's her age help care for animals? She turns 11 in a couple weeks. We rent so can't have any of our own pets or foster animals.

My daughter wants to volunteer with an animal shelter over the summer. Is there a local (no-kill of course) group that lets kid's her age help care for animals? She turns 11 in a couple weeks. We rent so can't have any of our own pets or foster animals.

I know that Petco won't allow kids that young to even help with a rescue when they are there.

Let me check with our liability insurance (I honestly don't know anything about it, don't know if you could sign a waiver or what, that would allow her to help us at other events).

The shelter won't allow anyone her age to help there.
