Local Texas Hold 'Em Tournament Questions

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the area and noticed that there are quite a few Texas hold 'em tourneys on the weekends. Are they any good? What are the payouts generally like? Worth playing or not? I'm trying to find something to do around here!

I have a son that plays and a recent one had an $1800 second place prize that he won.

I play all of them from time to time. No dealers. Alot of them run 2 decks though, moves along pretty good. Good games with a good crowd of regulars pretty much every week. The only one I have not played is the Lexington Park Bingo one. Someone told me they take $40 of your $100 buy-in.

Hubby goes to FOP most Friday nights and some Sundays. He's there now. He really likes the Friday night crowd.
