Parents wanna blame someone, look at themselves and the coaches.
AGREE 100% - I thought I was reading the wayback machine, seems this has been going on down here for years. Brawls at youth sports. Assnine
It's not that way all over, it's definitely a culture thing. If it can be learned, it can be unlearned, they just need a hard lesson

For your consideration ...

Thinking a lot of this turmoil stems from some/a lot of coaches having their own kid/s on a team that they are coaching, giving preferential treatment and unbalanced times per players on the field. Then there are the feral youth/players that have no respect for anyone, and also play out their antics against opposing non-feral players on the field while their feral coaches turn a blind watching open eye. Then there are the referees that don't do anything to stop these actions such as kicking the bad apples off the field when necessary. One but look to the NFL as to where these yut get that message from.

the poor dad
the equal opportunity mentality - not about having the best kids play the sport but about little Johnny who doesn't know a thing about the game gets as much time as tyrone who wants to win the Heisman. Everyone gets a trophy today regardless of your abilities and when you don't then mommy & daddy have to duke someone out over it!

First the blame goes on the parents. My kids played soccer and on occasion I got to witness youth football practice.
You are correct in one thing, lack of respect for the coaches and it has nothing to do with the coach and favoritism, these kids are undisciplined and completely disrespectful. They don't give any effort and want to be a star. All this is going on with parents standing around encouraging them.
I assisted a friend coach youth basketball and it was just as bad, certain kids wanted to be the next MJ or Lebron, they didn't want to be a player on a team, they wanted to just have the ball 100% of the time and then watch the other kids play defense.
Their parent would be coaching them from the other side of the court - to which my friend handed his clipboard over and told them to coach the team or shut the F up. They shut up.

Everyone gets a trophy
That's one of my biggest pet peeves...Kids can't deal with losing, and that started long ago. Back in the 80s I played on a soft pitch softball team at Goddard Space Flight Center..I was probably one of the older players, most were early 20s. Well, we had a decent team and played for the championship at the end of the season, we lost a heart breaker in the last inning and half my team starting crying..I couldn't believe it. I can see it at 9/10 yrs old but not when you are in your 20s...geesh
