Lockdown at SMCM, shooting in the area?

Some kids there for the pool have reported a lockdown, anyone know anything? My guess would be rednecks nearby mixing it up and the shooters in the wind, but no details and of course, no scanner information.

Just did a run through the the news sites and SMCSO FB and nothing.... Somebody ran over a pedestrian in front of Hobby Lobby yesterday, though.

Good thing the Sheriff went encrypted so we have only the reports of kids locked in a gym building to go on

I saw this put out by SMCM last night on their FB page:

This evening there were unconfirmed reports of gunshots behind Dorchester Hall. Students were asked to stay in place while the Sheriff's Office and Public Safety investigated. The Sheriff's Office and Public Safety completed their investigation and determined there was no threat. Students can continue their normal activities. Dean Brown will be in the Glendening Annex for the next hour if anyone wants to meet with him.

The wellness center will be available tomorrow from 8-5 p.m. for further assistance. For immediate after-hours assistance, contact your resident assistant, or call Public Safety at 240-895-4911. One of the Student Affairs on-call professionals will be contacted for you.

But don cha kno, it's for our safety? Actually, it's so the civilian authority, meaning us, can't keep a check on what has become a militarized police force.
