"The Republican Party of Texas, with help from the national GOP, will hire nearly two dozen full-time outreach workers over the next seven months, state GOP Chairman Steve Munisteri said Tuesday.
The extra employees will operate from five new field offices, courting Hispanics but also other nontraditional Republicans, such as blacks, Asian Americans and young people, Munisteri said.
The first wave of nine hires will occur next month, with a second wave in January, he said.
The party also will announce soon the creation of a statewide Asian American auxiliary, which will hire a full time person to work in that ethnic community, Munisteri said. In addition, it will hire a full time employee who will foster stronger ties with a group underrepresented in the GOP — African American voters, he said."
.....
"Munisteri said he also got a boost from publicity about Democratic groups seeking to mobilize minority and young voters in the state, such as Battleground Texas, led by two Obama campaign veterans, and Be One Texas, a donor collaborative.
“They are ratcheting up … their work, so we need to up our game as well,” he said.
A Battleground Texas spokeswoman said the state GOP is right to be afraid."
It's a slam dunk that they'll botch this job. lol!
