Turning around traffic on st marys side, collision on bridge, appears won't be open for a while, good luck and safe travels.

My son and his wife just crossed over about 15 minutes before the accident. I was so happy to hear him answer the phone when I called. Traffic is heavy on FDR Blvd. Safe travels.

Looks like two men were airlifted. Prayers to both. 🙏

MSPAC Trooper 7 airlifted a 59-year-old male patient to MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MSPAC Trooper 2 airlifted a 36-year-old male patient to George Washington University Hospital for treatment.

Just sneakin' around....
Might be something else going on too. Just heard the siren for the Chancellor's Run station, and the camera showed 2 sheriffs heading towards the bridge.

Edit: camera showed an amblance heading towards the bridge just now.

Husband got caught in it and then I was forced to be in it. Husband's car decided to make weird noises so he pulled off at a gas station in Hughesville. He didn't want to take the 231 exit off Rt5 because it was backed up and he didn't want the car to die in the middle of the road so he continued to a gas station up the road. Called me and said I had to pick him up (We live in Lusby). Traffic was ok until I hit Hallowing Point Rd. Then it just crept along the rest of the way.

Interesting thing was our oldest was just down the road from my husband at the electrician's school so he could have easily picked him up and I wouldn't have had to be inconvenienced. Got home around 9pm and went straight to bed so I could wake up at 2:15am for work. No dinner for either of us as I was in the process of making it when he called. Told both boys to pick up dinner for themselves.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Let this be a reminder of how traffic will be if that bridge, (always under continued, "maintenance), is ever shut down when starts to fall apart.

My parents were on their way to visit, just one night - a stop-over on their way to SC - and they got to Solomons heading into St. Mary's about 15-20 mins after this happened. After sitting for quite awhile, a few cops were standing by some yards away so my dad walked over and asked if it was worth turning around back for Prince Frederick. Immediate answers were "yep this is bad, gonna be awhile. an extraction crew is on the way now" :shocking: Saw some of the overhead photos from WJLA....sheww.
