Anyone live in longview beach?
Yes there are a lot of people that live there...Why?
Long while back, I remember that being a regular stop for St. Mary’s County sheriffs department several times a week. Sometimes several times a night.I am bumping this very old thread, because I have been all over the place for months with a person close to me looking for a house. I had to be careful and use my mouth filter in this process because a price range only gets you so far. Since that person has a full time job, I did a great deal of travel checking out various areas in 4 counties. I don't know if anyone else has been out real estate shopping but there some absolute high priced, ackward poop holes on the market. Anyway, our travels had us in Longview Beach and Mills Shore. I am impressed how much Longview Beach has been cleaned up and it appears both are building new homes, rehabbing old ones and burning out condemed ones. I remembered how I once publically spoke about how crappy these areas were and want to take that back and say "fantastic job and keep up the great work, it shows."
Anyway, the person did find a house they are excited about and hopefully the upcoming inspection is positive, otherwise, I will be back out trying to help.

Has that changed?
Interesting map.Yes, in fact, if you check the crime stastics, there is more crime in Leonardtown now.
Bushwood/Choptico/Maddox has a lot of property crime but no different than Country Lakes. Gotta keep your doors locked and get cameras out. In fact, the rise in camera usage just might be why crime has decreased in some parts. This original thread is from 2012, so that is possible.
dark green and light green for me, so I guess we should consider ourselves lucky.Interesting map.
All the places I lived were in the dark green zones. Well except one, but my guess would be. It was probably dark green back then.
I wonder if STS buses that will be free are transporting criminals throughout our County? Probably not. I am sure it is all very good nice people that are using it.Long while back, I remember that being a regular stop for St. Mary’s County sheriffs department several times a week. Them Bowles boys...sure pushed the 7D crime numbers up by a lot. Heck, they came across my place once in a skiff they stole from the opposite side of the creek after robbing some houses on that side. Tried to take the outboard off of it with them, but abandoned it in my woods, about half-way out Brown Rd. LOL...too heavy to run with I'd guessed.Bushwood/Choptico/Maddox has a lot of property crime but no different than Country Lakes.
The River Bandits were also big in the '90s, focusing on homes that didn't have central AC and had window shakers in the bedrooms which allowed them to break in easier. They drank a beer and ate a sandwich at the dinner table at my folks house. Finally caught one of them and we realized he was doing landscaping at Ocean Hall down the street.
