NOT Politically Correct!!
No one knows you, what you're a jack of all trades in, and frankly with such a vague intro, doubt anyone will bite without more info!

Try looking further than just somd.com classifieds. Check out the base contract companies. Lockheed, Boeing, Grumman, DynCorp, L3 are a few.

I guess your a child online, and really don't have nothing else to do besides play on the community forum with people that are serious about life...O yea if you re read it before you starting adding things, it SHOWS at the top of the page that it is a SUMMARY.

Thanks lizzy4459. I have applied for 3 of those contractors that you have posted but still no response back. I guess because I haven't achieved my associate degree yet. Alot of those companies want people with degree's. I even had a professional review my resume and they made changes to them.

check some of the local restaurants, my kid goes to CSM full time(12 credits) and works at Outback 4-5 nights a week. Talk to people and let them know your situation, most of the time they will give a student a chance.

Also consider it a sign of the times. I have my BS, have applied to the aforementioned companies, and also have not received any response.

Good luck!

Can I just ask a really stupid question..but why were you unable to work while enrolled in school full-time? I work full-time and went to school full-time. It was exhausting and I had zero life but got it done. I had to pay my mortgage and put food on the table.

:howdy:I did the same thing Chevy - was a single mom, worked full time and took 12 credit hours every semester (summers included) for four years. Just remember that not everyone is cut out for that type of grueling lifestyle.

Why are you out of work?

Because people like that are a dime a dozen. Gotta make yourself interesting. Everyone is good with computers now...and the rest is a collection of cliches. I got my job by including a section on my college research project. Nothing huge..just applied some things I learned (they said later they thought that was interesting and stand out). Avoided cliches in my resume..kept it relevant, had a continuous work history (listing all of the "experience" you had looks kinda like you couldn't keep a job long I suggest keeping those things relevant to the job you are applying for, if you dont already) , I overdressed for my interview, and sent a thank you note afterwards. It was locked.

Biggest take home message? DOn't be ordinary. Right now companies have their choice of a million workers with that EXACT same resume. Find something different about you, and include it. and quit with the cliches. they are annoying and no one takes them seriously.

If I saw a resume, even a summary, come across my desk, I'd put it in the recycle box. It sounds like a composite of things you've lifted out of the want ads. It tells me nothing about your background, except that you don't have much of one. The only thing it says to me is that you have a clean driving record (you better have a printout from the DMV). What is "T.I.P Certified?" Is that T.I.P.S Alcohol Certification? Spell it out; don't assume that your reader automatically knows what your acronyms mean.

Best of luck to you.

I don't think that's very fair. I don't know if the male/female brain thing is true, but I can tell you that I work with a lot of very intelligent men who can't spell a lick. It has nothing to do with intelligence. I suppose if you want to be an English major...

Just saying...
