Sorry, not sure I can help you out... I don't know of anyone in the area that would be recommendable as a coach. May I ask what you are trying to achieve? Just singing in general, or opera, or something? Reason I ask... it's been many many moons since I been in high school. But back home in my high school, we had pretty good teachers in our choir (and chorus dept). Some had some pretty amazing degrees and talents. Have you inquired at your local high school music folks? They may consider offering something for a fee...
Contact Lisa Kay Morton, she lives on Route 228 in Waldorf. (301) 632-5530. Her website is named "salt note studio." She has given voice lessons locally for a number of years, is very enthusiastic and encouraging, and has been involved in many school and community theater productions. She also has an annual student recital. She is a paid singer at St. Peter's Church, teaches daily at Ryken High School, and is involved each summer with an operatic academy in Rome, Italy. Her husband and son are also professional salaried musicians (with a military band, and at a large local church). She is also very accomodating / flexible about rescheduling any missed lessons.

Even though you are close to Waldorf, I would recommend Don Schramm in California any day. I studied with him for a long time, and he did wonders for me. Incredibly talented, wonderful man and a great teacher!
I worked with him years ago in the theater and absolutely loved him.ladyvanessa
