Looking for Mattress Suggestions

I am currently in the market for a new bed/mattress/box spring, hell I sleep on a futon, a change would be nice :)

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on

1. Where to buy?
2. Brands?
3. Models?

I went from a crib, to a waterbed, to a futon so the mattress market as a whole is a bit of a mystery to me.

Tempurpedic is the life...

I would never buy anything else again...

And don't accept imitations of a Tempurpedic. Those dorks at that mattress store next to Starbucks in California will try to scam you into taking a Tempurpedic knock-off bed because they're not allowed to sell them anymore...

We've got a deluxe bed and a celebrity bed, and I wouldn't say the celebrity bed is worth the price difference unless you just have money to burn...

Memory foam and not that high priced tempurpedic. Myself and several other people have bought quality foam online and at Sam's Club :yay:

:howdy: I really like my memory foam mattress, and am not worried about warranties because it's king size, cost less than $500, and is super comfy. If it explodes I'll buy another.

Symbol premium mattresses

I tried many different mattresses including Tempurpedic and this was the most comfortable for me - I have the Comfortec model. I've had it for over 5 years now and it's still like brand-new. Although it was comfortable at first, I didn't like the Tempurpedic mattresses because the foam trapped in my body heat and I felt like I was almost suffocating after a few minutes.

Plus it was over $4k for a queen-sized mattress (although there are less expensive models but I didn't like them) and I honestly didn't feel it was worth the price. I paid about $500 for the Symbol mattress and boxspring, have never slept better, and couldn't be happier.

How many inches thick are the various layers and types of foam in the mattress? Price? Warranty?

Different friends have different kinds. Mine is over 3 years old, 20 yr. warranty but is only 9 inches. Depending on the config, I get a soft, medium or hard surface because I have 7 inches of foam and 2 inch topper. The topper is flat on one side and sculptured on the other. The plain foam would be the hard surface.
I have friends with 9-12 inches (minds out of the gutter..lol) and 20 year warranties also.
My pillows are also memory foam.

I got mine on the barter system...don't ask :lmao:

Indeed. :huggy: But the owner of the store I got the mattress from is a good friend and he cut me a heck of a deal.
I remember when "Dye Tied" got hers. I read her recommendation and it turned out that we were in the market for a new mattress so we got the same one. Very comfy. :yay:

You really do have to ask. It's a confusing story and I am not typing it out
I will the next time we're out and about. We may need a few drinks first though. :lmao:

A friend just got one at Sam's Club, queen for under $500, but it's just foam. I like my convertible topper. :yay:
That's a good price. I love my pillowtop that I never have to flip. Plus my super squishy goose down pillows. And my ultra cozy new bedding set. Ah...heaven.
