Looking for old sturdy government type furniture

I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could find some of yhe old, ugly, heavy, very sturdy government style furniture.

Gray metal, formica top could use the 2x3 table as Jack stands for a 3/4 ton truck. Probably from the 60s, maybe 70s.

GSA probably has warehouses full of them.

No idea.
But you can drive down and talk to them.
They are down by the supply docks.

You might have some luck checking out local government surplus auctions or even school district sales. I once found a big, clunky metal desk at an estate sale that looked like it could survive a tornado—exactly the style you're describing. It had that gray, industrial vibe, with a formica top that was pretty much indestructible. If you're open to online options, Furniture has a decent variety too. I picked up a sturdy table there once, and while it's not quite the vintage government look, it's built like a tank and has held up to all kinds of abuse in my garage.
