LOST DOG in Bay Ridge Area

Help, My dog went missing on Sat. Aug 4 in the Bay Ridge area. She is 13 years old and is a small white, black and grey Shih-tzu. She has a micro-chip. If anyone has seen her please reply.

One piece of advice I can give is if you check the local animal shelter, make sure you go in person. Do not rely on an answer over the phone. Wishing you best of luck in finding your dog!

Thanks, we have, they told us to keep checking. We have posters, ads, and calls to her vet and every vet in the area. Hopefully, this is getting the extra word out we need.

missing dogs throughout the United States similar to the way Amber
Alerts are used to help find missing or abducted children.

Incidents will be typical of, but not limited to:
dogs escaped or suspected taken from backyards, dog shows, caretakers.

I was really surprised the when I called the Vets office, one which was no help at all, said they do not check for chips unless they are asked. Even strays or "found" animals. However, they do offer to sell the chip to you.
The second took down all my information, and offer to post on their board. She said that it is not normal to check for chips unless the people admit they found the dog. If the pet looks familar, and the person does not, they would check. Nice to know some people go the extra mile for the money we spend to keep our pets safe.
