LOST DOG - La Plata Area: Last seen Monday 01/16/12 around noon. The owner was walking the dog around Thilghman Lake Park off of Radio Station Rd. Thilghman Lake attaches to Laurel Springs Park and the dog was spotted in that area on 01/18/12. The owner fell and and the dog became frightened and ran off. The dog is an all black Lab mix wearing a blue collar and had a blue retractable leash attached to it as it ran off. The dog is approximately 1 1/2 years old and weighs about 40lbs and goes by the name of "Indy". He was rescued from the shelter and it is believed that he was abused by his previous owner. He will come if called, but becomes scared by alot of noise and sudden movements.
