2 lost dogs, both female. Live over near the airport. These are two dogs that dont just run away. VERY FRIENDLY! Both wearing collars with identification and call number.

1st dog - chocolate lab/pointer mix. Obviously brown in color.
2nd dog - Mastiff/Pit mix. Grey coloring.

The chocolate lab answers to Tiki and the mastiff answere to Zoey.

Beautiful friendly dogs... the family is really missing them. Please let me know if you see them around.

Starting to think that there is something strange going on in the CRE. Lots of these types of dogs going missing... with all the gangs in there now, you never know. Dog fighting???

Have you called security and asked them to watch for them? I am on the airport; though rarely home. I will keep my eyes peeled. Do you have fliers?

Where were they? In your yard? Unattended? Not placing blame, just curious because it does seem as if this is happening often in CRE.

Better not be. I'l raid them myself :boxing:

What do you mean by "don't just run away"? Curious as to the circumstance. If they were out in a yard unfenced / restrained, and normally do not wander of, all it would take is the right stimulus... deer, coon, cat, 'nuther dog, etc. and they will do what dogs do.

They your dogs? If they were fenced / contained and disappeared, I'd like to swing by and take a look if you think they were snatched, see what I can see. If there is a problem in CRE with dogs being stolen I want to know. :yay:

Other than that, I'm over by the stables, but will definitely keep my eyes peeled, if they are loose, they may roam far.

:yeahthat:

I've had dogs show up at my place in PF from Scientists Cliffs. Dogs get on the beach and tend to follow the Bay or the creeks. A few years back, two Spinones showed up on our deck...stinky, muddy & wet. They'd gone on a big adventure. Found the owners though. :yay:

These dogs are never left in the yard unattended. They were in a dog run in the back yard. They are only out there mid-morning to mid-evening and never on bad weather days. Plus, there were 2 other dogs still left in the run. So, that is what makes me feel like they were taken. Also the fact that they both had collars on with their names and home number. Seriously... who finds a dog with a collar and doesnt call the number?

These are my families dogs. I know my Dad has made calls all around to try and find them. I told him to start going door to door... but I dont think he has done that.

On an optomistic note, I wouldnt doubt if Tiki went running for the water... she loves it. But, makes me fearful given the time of the year.

Thank you all for keeping your eyes peeled.

Turbo,
Maybe you could consider part of your training program to include tracking dogs- dogs for tracking lost dogs. Just an idea.

I would try my one GSD in tracking pets...

if I wasnt gonna start my own team.. I would turn one of mine into that.

I've thought about working up the pup I'm getting this summer for that since I can't do SAR (doing PP training with him). I used to do it a little with Caber back in FL, one case a boarding kennel lost a MinPin and Caber tracked it to an Orange grove 4 miles away, LOL.

And no indication of digging out, if no top, climbing out etc?

I just want to know enough so I know whether to start investing time scouting the area for dog theives. I catch someone stealing a dog, I'll let them have mine... right up the ass... LOL.

Yes. 4 dogs total, only 2 missing.

There was a hole in the bottom of the fence, HOWEVER the littlest dog that would have no problem getting out was still in there. And he has done his own escape act before... so that's what makes me wonder.

I saw the missing dog post from the other person in here that lives over near my families way talking about her pit bull mix being missing. That's the only reason I feel like they were taken or even if they did get out, someone just isnt returning them.

lost dogs

There have been a lot of missing dogs here lately in Calvert, and surrounding Counties. It makes you wonder if they are being stolen. Although..I have seen a lot of the Animal Control around the CRE, and surounding areas.

About what time? Any idea?

Dog theft isn't what comes to my mind, just lots of irresponsible pet owners.

Is anyone missing their dogs? Two dogs, a white one and a brown one, look like pitbull/boxer types, very sweet. They have collars but no tags. They're over here right off of Tomahawk trail between shortcut and warbonnet.

Craziest thing... after almost a year of being gone... Tiki returned home on Friday. And whomever had her decided to put old rabies tags on her as if it was his own dog. Well, after a phone call my Dad was able to track down where Tiki had been all this time to try and find Zoey. With help from the local law enforcement, Zoey was found as well.

The guy/family that had the dogs put Tiki's collar on Zoey and called her Tinkerbell. Here is the absolutely disgusting part, when asked WHY they didnt call the number on the tag... the guy said he did but he kept getting hung up on. REALLY!!! someone is missing not 1 but 2 dogs and they are just going to NOT ANSWER or HANG UP on someone? Doubt it. Obviously he had something to hide if he was trying to change collars to hide who they really were. He's lucky my Dad didnt press charges.

They both are SEVERELY overweight but they are finally home. What a happy ending!
