It is a glider about 6' in span, blue and red wings, carbon fiber fuselage.

Maybe it landed in a friend of a friends backyard or something.

Thanks

6" span? The wind take a paper airplane away from ya?

:lmao:

woops! typo - yes 6 foot span!

It was not that high and it literally vanished into thin air - I could no longer see it. I'm devastated. I not only liked the airplane but I had some serious money into it.

I launched right after a C-130 had passed, and then a few minutes later it flew past again, right where my glider was. Vaporized? Hmmmm...

nah, couldn't be

Ewww. That stinks.

If that baby made it across the bay, I'll read about it, or hear about it, and I'll let you know.

If it lands in my yard, I will hold it for ransom.

There needs to be a period of mourning, morgan - then we can laugh. Currently, I'm overwhelmed with sadness...

Obviously the air wasn't that thin... Your toy found some lift! C-130 wing tip vortices? :nerd:

Maybe you should start flying motorized craft. Makes it much easier to find with a lawn mower.

More like turbulence than lift, but nice try. It had an electric motor on it. An expensive one. It's gone now.

Should have disabled the cloaking device first.

Tooth,

I meant your craft found enough lift to get up to where any turbulance would affect it.

Actually, how high do RC aircraft usually operate? I'm sure they can get up there, but about what altitude do folks normally fly them?

I hope you find it, cause I know that stuff isnt cheap.

Sorry to hear man, I lost one a while back at the field up at Greenwell.

I have had my 42" wingspan plane up to about 800 ft before fwiw

This one was one of my smaller ones at 6'. I would guess it was about at 600 ft when I lost it. If it had been a bit bigger well, of course I could see it better and it would have been more comfortable to fly at that altitude.

That is pretty high for that span. I guess my number was up. I have been flying them off and on since childhood and have never lost one so I figure it was about time. It is appropriate here to mention my favorite motto,

"You gotta pay to play"

I hope you find it. Before you mentioned how high they fly I was more optimistic that you could search for it, but it might be anywhere from that height. You could still hope somebody returns it if there is any identifying info. on it. Good luck.

That's a hobby I'd love to get into, but no spare money or time yet. Someday.
