Love of hot sauce

A Myers-Briggs personality test can help you determine whether you're an extrovert. But could your love of hot sauce reveal something about your temperament, too?

As we have reported, back in the 1980s, a psychology professor at the University of Pennsylvania named Paul Rozin documented a connection between liking roller coasters and liking spicy food.

....people who were most inclined to enjoy action movies, adventure-seeking and exploration were about six times more likely to enjoy the burn of a spicy meal.

Women who like spicy foods, it turns out, may be more drawn to the sting — that burn in the throat — more than their male counterparts.

For men, the machismo factor — the idea that tough men should be able to withstand the heat — seems to play a role. "It is possible that the cultural association of consuming spicy foods with strength and machismo has created a learned social reward for men," the paper concludes.

I like hot sauce, however not a big fan of roller coasters. A buddy from Mo., just sent me several bottles of Arizona Gunslinger sauces, have tried the Red Jalapeno Pepper Sauce and it is pretty good, have not tried the Chipotle Habanero Pepper Sauce yet.

Dave's Insanity sauce comes in different degrees of heat, i had some before, where the heat was ok, and it had a good flavor to it.

I don't know what degree the stuff was that I tried, but it burned the eyes and nose if you got a whiff of it; and on the tongue it just felt like a hot rivet; no pepper flavor or anything; just hot rivet. I mentioned Arriba salsa.....I like the roasted garlic & cilantro but they also have a desert pepper flavor that's not bad; and it doesn't set you on fire.

I like hot sauce that TASTES good. Hot sauce for the sake of hot is 'hold m'ah beer and watch this' stupid. Yeah, we'll watch, dumb ass.

Have only tried the Hot Red and it is the ONLY habernaro sauce I have ever thought had good taste. It's plenty hot without being stupid and it tastes WONDERFUL.

5 stars here.

I love hot sauce and find myself trying on just about anything (for the most part) most recently on pizza

Post 5.

Go. Buy. Now. 3 pack, delivered, $20, one each flavor. Thank me later.

A buddy had a buddy visit from Panama and we were given a bottle. We were putting that stuff on pizza, on eggs, on salads. It's the PERFECT heat for my tastes, that heat zone that is hot yet not too hot and you just wanna keep it coming. Bottle was gone in a weekend. :yahoo:

Am I the only one that doesn't like the taste of jalapenos? I like the taste of other peppers though but the bitter/metallic aftertaste of jalapenos makes me gag.
