:sarcasm: Because nobody under 21 lives in their own place. :sarcasm:
Oh, I must beg to differ, I obtained the job I still have at 18. Moved out to my own place at 19. Supported my self ever since. For 3 years I could not come home from work and have a cold beer, yeah right, that was going to happen.:buddies:
Oh, and I did see that you were just being sarcastic.

If we don't want to lower the drinking age to 18, then we should raise the age to vote and serve in the military to 21. Don't even try to tell me someone is mature enough to go catch a bullet for his country but isn't mature enough to buy himself a beer.

how about leave it at 21 but allow them to drink at 18 if they are in the military.
lets see how adult like the majority of the whiners think they are.
not mature enough to join the military at 18, not mature enough to drink.
I think that is fair.

Does anyone in here honestly think that the current age limit of 21 actually stops those underage from drinking if they want to? Because I've seen/heard stories of drunk 13-16 year olds to think differently.

18. I'd even go so far as to say 16. I've been to two countries where the legal drinking age was 16 and you didn't have nearly the problems that you have here when it comes to abuse and bad behavior.

I don't know if this slant has been raised, but what about allowing 18 yr olds to drink beer/ale, even wine, but restrict the consumption of grain alcohol - like bourbon, whiskey, scotch, gin and vodka, etc., until they turn 21?

I forgot, but that is how it was in NY, way back when.

Just to name a few :yay:
Everyone should do that. It's called being a citizen.

I think a soldier is asked a little more than your average citizen and I wouldn't have a problem giving them an extra privilege.

Most other Western Countries allow drinking at 16...drinking shouldn't be such a challenge.
