Hey folks, as of today, Lowe's no longer does large interior projects such as kitchen or bath remodels.

They are going back to the older style, small installations like replacing a toilet, faucet, sink, bath vanity, water heater...

Too low a clean revenue stream and too many bad jobs ending in lawsuits across the country.

We are trying to get them to install an exterior French door - no luck! Can't get them to return calls. Very frustrating, esp since they say the warranty on the door is voided if we use anyone else.

A big part of that, installations are no longer controlled at store level, but by a call center in Indiana.

Small jobs with supervision and QA through someone at the store is the only way to fix this mess. I never had them do anything big, for the two small jobs I had them do they are at a 50% failure rate. Took them three re-dos until the blinds were made from the fabric that was ordered. The third time he showed up, the installer put them up crooked.

I wonder if the Amazon home services will fill the void.

I am sure Bezos will. Starting out as an out of house bookstore to a major socialist who treats employees like slaves; that are revolting. We got an Amazon gift card last Xmas (year ago) and regifted it. Will never shop at Amazon, again. Bezos is another power hungry maniac.
