(WESTMINSTER, MD) – Lieutenant Governor Boyd K. Rutherford will join Maryland State Police Superintendent, Colonel William Pallozzi as the keynote speaker for the 150th Trooper Candidate Academy Class Graduation Friday, December 20, 2019.

The trooper candidates have endured six months of rigorous training in a residential police academy that demands their very best, at all times. After graduation, each trooper is required to complete eight weeks of additional field training with an experienced trooper before they are able to patrol alone. Families, friends and fellow members of the Maryland State Police and other law enforcement agencies will be present at the graduation ceremony.

This class is comprised of 49 trooper candidates who include military veterans, prior MSP cadets, and former law enforcement officers. Many trooper candidates participated in charitable fundraisers for groups like Pathfinders For Autism, which also provides instruction to Maryland State Police classes to help them learn how to deal with people who suffer from developmental disabilities.
